    Millie Bobby Brown (born 19 February 2004) is a British actress and model.[1][2] She gained recognition for playing the character Eleven in the Netflix sci-fi drama series (2016–present), which earned her two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, and two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series. She is one of the youngest nominees for the award.[3] In 2018, Brown was featured in the 100 list of the world's most influential people,[4] and was appointed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, the then youngest person selected for this position.[5]

    Early life

    Brown was born in Marbella, Spain,[6] on 19 February 2004,[7] she is the third of four children born to English parents Kelly and Robert Brown.[8] She was born with partial hearing loss in her left ear, and gradually she lost all hearing in that ear over several years.[9][10] She moved with her family back to England when she was four, settling in Bournemouth; when she was eight, the family moved to Orlando, Florida.[11]

    In 2013, Brown made her acting debut as a guest star in the ABC fantasy drama series , a spin-off of , portraying the role of Young Alice. In 2014, she had a starring role in the BBC America paranormal drama-thriller series as Madison O'Donnell.[12] She made guest appearances in the CBS police procedural drama , the ABC sitcom , and the ABC medical drama series .[13][14]

    In 2016, Brown was cast to play Eleven in the Netflix science fiction horror series .[15] She received critical praise for her performance[16] and she was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.     Millie started her acting career after she moved from Orlando, Florida to Los Angeles, California in the year 2013. She has appeared in some popular television shows such as Grey's Anatomy and NCIS, but only played minor roles. Portraying in was her first major role, for which she rose to prominence at a very early age.

    Her first ever film role was in . Millie also produced and featured in the film adaptation of the book. With that, she became one of the youngest people in Hollywood to earn a producer credit on a feature film, which was produced through her own company, PCMA Productions.
