Stardew Valley's Largemouth Bass isn't particularly difficult to find or catch but is vital to completing villager quests and the Community Center.

The Largemouth Bass is a common fish in Stardew Valley but is featured in several quests and is moderately difficult to catch. The Largemouth Bass is also necessary for the Fish Tank in the Community Center, including the Stardew Valley Version 1.5 remixed bundles.

Fishing in Stardew Valley is essential to do early on to accrue money. In the first couple of seasons, money is more difficult to acquire by only selling crops, especially for new Stardew Valley players, but fishing can bring in large chunks of change to purchase more seeds with. However, the fishing mechanic in Stardew Valley has received mixed reviews since the game's launch. It's unique and for some players, simply too difficult to master, even after playing for tens of hours. Still, the Largemouth Bass is essential to finishing Stardew Valley's "main story," the Community Center.

Luckily, the Largemouth Bass is available during all seasons in Stardew Valley. It can be found up in the mountain lake by the mines from 6 AM to 7 PM, or at the player's farm if the player chose the Wilderness Farm at the start of the game. During Spring and Fall seasons, Largemouth Bass have a 20% chance of appearing and during the Summer and Winter, they have only a 15% chance of appearing. Players will have the most luck catching a Largemouth Bass if they cast the line farther from shore.

Like many average fish, Largemouth Bass can be used in a wide variety of Stardew Valley cooking recipes such as the Maki Roll and Sashimi, as well as Crispy Bass. It won't sell for too much, though; without the Fisher or Angler professions, the Largemouth Bass will sell for less than 200 gold, but catching several can be beneficial in early gameplay hours. And like most fish, it can produce Roe in a farm pond, but its roe is also not very valuable with a selling price of only 80 gold.

Still, the Largemouth Bass is essential to completing the Community Center in Stardew Valley. In the vanilla game, it appears in the Lake Fish Bundle of the Fish Tank. Completing the Fish Tank removes the glittering boulder to the left of the mines near the mountain lake. With the 1.5 update, however, Stardew Valley introduced Remixed Bundles to add an extra challenge for veteran players.

If choosing the option to remix the Community Center Bundles, in addition to the Lake Fish Bundle, the Largemouth Bass will also appear in the Quality Fish Bundle, which requires a five-star version of it. This is similar to the vanilla game's Quality Crops Bundle, except each item only requires one five-star item instead of five.

Stardew Valley is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.

In Stardew Valley, players will need to find and catch a Largemouth Bass if they hope to complete their fishing catalog and view a cutscene where they join Jodi and her family for dinner. Additionally, players will need to find and donate this large green fish to complete the Fishing Bundle in the Community Center. Player can also use this fish in several recipes in Stardew Valley or as a gift for the residents of Pelican Town.

Players will be able to find a Largemouth Bass during all seasons in Stardew Valley at the mountain lake from 6 AM to 7 PM. The mountain lake is the large body of water near the mines and between Robin's house and the quarry. During the Spring and Fall seasons, players will have a 20% chance of finding a Largemouth Bass and a 15% chance during the Summer and Winter seasons. To improve their chances of finding the fish, players should cast their fishing line out from the shore and begin fishing as soon as the day begins. Players should note the Largemouth Bass is moderately difficult to catch.

Additionally, players can improve their chances of successfully catching a fish in Stardew Valley by using a tackle, bait, and an upgraded fishing rod. Players can purchase the Iridium Rod, which is the highest quality fishing rod available, from Willy's shop and attach tackle to it to make fishing easier. For instance, the Cork Bobber will increase the size of the player's fishing bar, and the Lead Bobber will prevent the fishing bar from bouncing at the bottom. Players can also craft bait, which will increase the frequency of spawning fish. Additionally, as players level up their fishing skills, they will earn a larger fishing bar.

Largemouth Bass Uses In Stardew Valley

Once players have a Largemouth Bass, they can sell it, cook with it, or gift it. The sale price of a Largemouth Bass will vary based on its star quality and upgrades the player selected for their fishing level, but the base price is 100 Gold. The only recipe in Stardew Valley that requires a Largemouth Bass is Crispy Bass. Players can also use it for recipes that can be made with any fish, such as Maki Roll,  Sashimi, and Quality Fertilizer. The Largemouth Bass is disliked by most villagers as a gift but is a neutral gift for Demetrius, Elliott, Leo, Linus, Pam, Sebastian, and Willy. Players should avoid giving it to Evelyn, Haley, and Pierre as it is a hated gift for them.

Players will also need to donate a Largemouth Bass to the Community Center if they choose the base game without randomization at the start of their game. If players put their Largemouth Bass in a Fishing Pond, it will produce Roe. Additionally, players can use a Largemouth Bass at a Sewing Machine to produce a Fishing Vest. For quests, Jodi will require a Largemouth Bass delivered to her home for her four heart event. Additionally, Demetrius or Willy in Stardew Valley may request a Largemouth Bass on the bulletin board outside of Pierre's shop. Finally, players may need to deliver 10 Largemouth Bass to Demetrius to complete the Aquatic Overpopulation request from the special orders board located in front of Mayor Lewis's house.
