Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients can typically expect payments on the first of every month unless the first falls on a weekend or holiday. According to the Social Security Administration’s schedule of Social Security benefits for 2022, July’s payments are scheduled to go out on Friday, July 1.

If you received Social Security before May 1997 — or if you’re receiving both Social Security and SSI — then you will receive both your Social Security and SSI payment on July 1.

SSI is a need-based program that provides monthly benefits to those who meet the SSA’s definition of disabled, are blind or are 65 and older. Eligible recipients also have low income and limited resources. The SSA says some states and territories may supplement the federal SSI benefit with additional payments as well.

For 2022, the federal benefit rate is $841 for an individual and $1,261 for a couple, but the exact amount may vary based on your income, living arrangements and other factors. The maximum SSI amount changes based on cost-of-living adjustments (COLA) that apply to Social Security benefits

Many people eligible for SSI may also qualify for Social Security benefits and food assistance through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP. SSI and SS are administered by the SSA and even share the same application. SNAP is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), but you must apply for benefits through your state’s SNAP agency.

If you typically receive paper checks, the SSA says to wait three mailing days before checking on the status of your payment if you don’t receive it on the scheduled date. If you receive a direct deposit, you can expect to receive your payment on the first; however, this may depend on your bank.

Social Security Schedule: When July 2022 Benefits Will Be Sent

    Josephine Nesbit

    Mon, June 27, 2022, 2:01 AM·2 min read

The next round of Social Security checks are scheduled to go out in early July. In May, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) rose by 1.0% and the all items index increased 8.6% over the last 12 months. Rising inflation has pushed the Social Security cost-of-living increase to 5.9% for 2022, the largest in nearly 40 years. This increase went into effect on Jan. 1 for Social Security beneficiaries and Dec. 30 for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries.

If your birth date is on the 21st-31st, your payment is distributed on Wednesday, July 27.

You may also qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) if Social Security isn’t enough to cover your basic living expenses. The SSI program sends monthly payments to adults and children with a disability (or blindness) who meet financial qualifications. SSI is also available to those 65 years and older who have limited income and financial resources.

If you received Social Security before May 1997 — or if you’re receiving both Social Security and SSI — then you will receive both your Social Security and SSI payment on July 1.

An official with the Social Security Administration said beneficiaries are likely to receive a COLA “closer to 8%” at the end of 2022 due to the current rate of inflation, CBS News reported. Beneficiaries could see an increase of $132.64 per month in early 2023, bringing the average check to about $1,790.

Here’s how much the value of your Social Security check is likely to go up next year

If you’re retired or just about to retire, next year’s Social Security checks are likely to see one of the biggest bumps on record as a result of surging consumer prices. The higher payments will be welcome news for retirees, who have seen their household finances squeezed so far this year as a result of rocketing inflation and turmoil in the financial markets. The consumer-price index is up an annual 8.6% through May, way ahead of the 5.9% annual inflation adjustment handed out to Social Security beneficiaries in January.

Social Security prepares to send out $2573 payments in July

Social Security payments exist in the United States so that everyone can have money to live on. This Social Security payment can be for widowhood, disability or retirement. Blind people can also receive this benefit. But there is one more payment that some people can also receive. That payment is Supplemental Security Income (SSI), which benefits people with lower monthly incomes.

If you are on the list of people who can receive the SSI payment, you should know that you will soon have the amount of money in your bank account for the month of July. Every month the first day of the month is the date to receive this amount, so in a very short time you will be able to have this financial benefit from Social Security.

    July 2022 SSI Payment Date

The exact date of the July 2022 SSI payment is Friday of next week. This Friday is July 1, 2022. When the 1st of the month is a holiday or weekend, the payment date changes, but this time there is no problem with this situation. If you began receiving your Social Security before May 1997, you will also receive your benefit on July 1.

    July 2022 SSI Payment Date

After that, for the rest of the year, you can receive your payment on the same days, i.e., you will always receive your Supplemental Security Income on the 1st of the month. You will not need to do anything else other than wait to receive it. Remember that sometimes it may take a little while for your payment to arrive in your bank account. If three days go by and you still haven’t received your payment, visit a local office for more information.

Anyway, don’t worry, because if your Social Security pension or SSI is accepted you will receive it in your bank. It’s just a matter of time before the amount shows up in your bank account. Remember that there is also the Direct Express option, which is faster and does not require a bank account.

If you want to apply for Direct Express, just contact your local office. You can also do it online through the Social Security’s dedicated website. The process is quick and easy, so you should be up and running in no time.

    SSI amounts in 2022

The maximum monthly federal amounts for 2022 are $841 for an eligible individual, $1,261 for an eligible individual with a spouse, and $421 for an essential person. This means that the final SSI amount depends on whether you apply alone or with a partner.

Each year, SSI payments are also adjusted by COLA, inflation and general price increases. To keep track of all the increases, it is advisable to look at the government’s Social Security website. There we can find all available and necessary data. Next year the COLA will raise the SSI payment a little, as it does every year, to keep up with the increase in prices and inflation. But you don’t have to worry about anything other than getting paid, since that increase is fully automatic.

Thanks to this increase in Social Security Income with the COLA, all beneficiaries will have a better purchasing power. But we won’t know the exact amount that SSA and SSI pensions will increase until October, so we will have to wait a bit.
