FORTNITE CHAPTER 3 Season 2 starts March 20, which means fans are hungry for every morsel they can possibly learn about the upcoming battle pass for Battle Royale. Below, we detail the expected start time of Season 2 and answer any questions about the lingering possibility of a live event. Want to know when you can see what’s next for Jonesy and his friends? Then you’ve come to the right place.
WHEN IS THE FORTNITE CHAPTER 3 SEASON 2 START TIME?
Despite the fact that the estimated start times of any Fortnite season had mostly been a lock for several years. New trends established at the start of Chapter 3 this past December have made predictions a bit messier than they’d otherwise be.
We know that Fortnite Season 2 kicks off on March 20, but its precise starting hour remains unclear. Here are some details that may help narrow down the start time.
Fortnite Chapter 2 is expected to start sometime between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Eastern on March 20.Epic Games
Prior to Chapter 3, most Fortnite seasonal updates were fully deployed by 6 a.m. Eastern on launch day. That said, watching for Season 2 developments at 6 a.m. Eastern on March 20 may be worth doing provided Fortnite’s developers at Epic Games don’t offer more specific instructions beforehand.
Alternatively, fans may remember that Chapter 3 Season 1 kicked off at 10 a.m. Eastern on launch day. If the early-morning hour looks a bit quiet, this pattern may be repeating itself for the start of Season 2.
We’ll do our best to update this post with a more precise start time if it becomes available, but fans are strongly encouraged to keep track of the Fortnite Status Twitter account for the latest information. It may not tell you precisely when seasonal downtime is expected to end, but the account typically offers advance notification when downtime is about to begin.
IS THERE A FORTNITE SEASON 2 LIVE EVENT?
Nope. After the cataclysmic affair that was the start of Chapter 3, Epic seems to be taking a much quieter approach with the launch of Season 2. That said, those who pay attention closely to Battle Royale will know Epic typically puts together a live event every other season. So, while there won’t be any major cinematic moments to witness for the upcoming battle pass, it’s far more likely we’ll see substantial changes in the one that follows.
For now, the main point of focus is the ongoing feud between the Seven and the Imagined Order. After the Battle Royale map was flipped to start Chapter 3, members of the IO have been drilling through the Island’s core to reach the other side. With new bases established, how will the Foundation and his friends respond to the incoming onslaught of enemies? That question will likely be a big focus as we inch toward Season 2.
FORTNITE CHAPTER 3 SEASON 2 LEAKS
In Season 2 the Imagined Order and the Seven are expected to enter a phase of all-out war.Epic Games
Our Fortnite Chapter 2 codex page features plenty of in-depth explanations on the suspected features of the next battle pass, but we’ll recap a few of the bigger additions below.
A Mythic Thermal AR, a Mythic with blades, and a Mythic Shockwave Bow.
A Homing Rocket weapon for anti-air purposes.
Twin pistols referred to in data-mines as the Double Deagle.
Two new vehicles: a Zeppelin for the Seven and Tank Drills for the IO. These are believed to be the same drills we see on the map today, but you’ll actually be able to drive them.
Map changes suggest the Agency may make a comeback as DDMachine. A location called Cattus Cave has been found in the files as well.
Taking a cue from Chapter 2 Season 2, the prevailing belief is that the new battle pass will be themed around the war between the IO and the Seven. Just like the prior Season 2, then, it’s thought that players will be able to swear allegiance to their chosen side to unlock varied skin styles on the battle pass. As with all leaks, these concepts should be taken with a grain of salt, but you should still have a good idea of what to expect from Fortnite going forward.

FORTNITE CHAPTER 3 SEASON 2 PATCH NOTES: RELEASE DATE, BATTLE PASS, MAP, SKINS, WEAPONS AND EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
March 17, 2022 | ROCCATComing Soon....Fortnite's debut season for Chapter 3 is coming to an end this week. Chapter 3 came in with a bang, featuring everyone's favourite Web Slinger and a WWE icon.
A new season means a fresh overhaul of content for players to enjoy. The map, weapons and skins are just some of the things to get an overhaul. It doesn't stop there as many functions structures in the game are changed such as the way XP is earny and how quests are laid out.
So what can we expect this season in Fortnite? Here's what's new in Chapter 3 Season 2.
Players can expect to see update Chapter 3 Season 2 to release sometime on March 20th, 2022.
This relates to when the current season is slated to end, and HYPEX has noted that the current season is going to end on March 19 and this is emphasised by the Battle Pass for Season 1 ending on this date.
Teasers Starting Today?
As we apporach the end of Season 1, we should start to see the official Fortnite account push teasers in the next day or two.
Marvel x Fortnite Zero War Comic Pages
The details of the patch notes are a bit scarce at the moment, but some things we do know are as follows:
Weapon pool changes (including vaulting, unvaulting and addding new ones)
New Battle Pass
Rumoured Workshop and Gadgets apart of the Seven
Rumoured Turret Mounted VehiclesWe'll update this regularly as we hear more - be sure to bookmark this page.
Players can expect 100 Tiers of rewards ranging from Skins, Backblings, Pickaxes, Gliders, V-Bucks and more!
There are also additional rewards to unlock during the season throw completing Special Quests and levelling up past level 100.
We're expecting the price to remain the same for the Battle Pass - costing 900 V-Bucks to purchase the premium Battle Pass with a free option still remaining.
Those that want to push on and give themselves an advantage can pay for the Battle Pass Bundle. Costing 2800 V-Bucks, it gives players an additional 25 tiers from the get-go.
How Will It Work?
The Battle Pass will likely adopt the same style as it has done in the past few seasons, opting for players to collect Battle Stars and unlock what they want at their own pace.
When Season 1 began, we got an entire map change. This is usually the formula Fortnite upholds for new chapters, but as new seasons begin, only some areas and parts of the map change to reflect the overarching story. We are likely to get a new POI or two, but the map will still remain true to its original shape and layout.
@HYPEX has mentioned the following:
"Over the course of the season, it's clear that the IO is preparing for something big as their drills appear across the map, probing for weakness in the Seven's foothold on the island."
HYPEX has also stated that we could see a replication of the infamous rocket event from Chapter 1, due to a location looking very similar to a rocket launch pad, along with certain game files relating to this.
Another leak has emegered, and this time it has to do with the in-game files and FortTory has found that there's new Zero Point files that relate to some sort of Dark Tower!
@HYPEX has also said the following:
"Season 2 Leak (This was for S1 but The Workshop & Gadgets were delayed):
"The Seven have made their imprint across the island, but it's clear that survival was on their mind due to the size and scale of the Seven Village (Sanctuary) and the crazy gadgets seen at The Workshop.""
iFireMonkey noted that Zoe Clas may be somes sort of starter pack within Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2.
Well known Fortnite community member and leaker may have teased a Dr Strange collaboration. In his latest video, he kept emphasising the word 'Strange'. Given the game's history with Marvel collabs and the fact Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness releases in May, this is a very realistic idea.
Another skin to come could be Cloud Strife...
Drivable Battle Bus?
Tabor has also teased a drivable Battle Bus with turrets...
HYPEX has noted that a brand new Mythic Thermal AR is on the way for Season 2.

We've had no teases, no leaks and in a way, it's been a brilliant strategy! Players are clueless and it's hard to remember the last time this was the case. We're super excited to see what Season 2 brings when it arrives!
More Star Wars Season Teases
For a while, signs have pointed towards Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 having a huge Star Wars influence.
Now, Donald Mustard has tweeted what could be yet another tease.
If the whole season is based on Star Wars, it could be extremely exciting and unique.
Are we getting an event soon?
Usually, when the final update of a Fortnite season comes around, we learn a lot more about any end of season events. As Fortnite Update 19.40 came and went, there was nothing to speak of in the files.

Now this leaves us unsure of whether or not an event is planned to end Season 1 or start Season 2. All signs point towards more of a cut and dry end to the season perhaps with a cutscene rather than an interactive event.
Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 Leaks
Fortnite content creator @TaborTimeYT has come up with the Season 2 goods alongside @MidaRado. The big news is that another war with The Imagined Order looks set to take place. There was some belief that the IO had been vanquished as part of the Flipside event at the end of Chapter 2 but it looks like they're still about and ready to launch an attack.

A slightly more minor leak suggested that a driveable vehicle with mounted turrets would drop into the game. This could be as part of an in-game event rather than for general Battle Royale use.
Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 Release Date
The expected release date for Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 is set to end on Saturday, 19 March 2022. This places the start date for Season 2 - most likely - at Sunday, 20 March 2022.
There is every possibility that there is some extended downtime lasting through to the usual update day of Tuesday but there's no hint of that at this moment in time. If extended downtime was to occur we expect to know about this a few weeks prior to the launch of the new season.
