Since the beginning of December 2021, Fortnite players have been exploring the flipped island and everything that arrived with it during the first season of Chapter three. The past months have been packed with content, from the Winter Fest celebrations to new POI’s and theme weeks, during which the bows made a limited-time return and chickens took over the island.

Now that Chapter three, season one is nearing its end, players have found themselves wondering when exactly the new season will arrive?

Unlike at the end of many other seasons, there hasn’t been a big build-up for the season finale or a countdown for an in-game event this time around. Something is going on on the Fortnite island-like earthquakes surrounding Tilted Towers—but players have been kept in the dark of what exactly will happen, and when.

The current battle pass states Saturday, March 19 as the end date for season one. While Fortnite’s usual update schedule brings players new content every Tuesday, it’s not uncommon for events to happen on other days of the week—Chapter three launched on a Sunday, after all.

According to data-miners, the new update has already been added to staging servers and is set to launch next weekend. Considering we’re only moving into a new season, there shouldn’t be excessive downtime between the end of season one and the beginning of season two, making the start date for Fortnite Chapter Three, season two March 19.

With only a week left of Chapter Three, season one in Fortnite, players are rushing to gain all the XP they can in order to max out their battle pass and unlock additional skin styles before the new season rolls in on March 19.

Luckily for players, Epic Games has made the task easier by providing them with a number of challenges that grant XP throughout the season. Daily, weekly, and seasonal quests, among many others, play a big role in helping players reach the highest level they can during a season. In addition to free challenges, Epic occasionally introduces challenge packs. These purchasable skins come with quests that help unlock more styles and items for the outfit, as well as some extra XP.

One of the challenge packs introduced in season one of Chapter Three was the Monarch’s Level Up Quest Pack. It includes the Monarch skin with four sets of weekly challenges to complete, unlocking a back bling, weapon wrap, and a golden variant for the Monarch visual. Each token also grants one full XP level, adding up to 28 levels total.

    What’s in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2?

When does Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 end?

Epic Games haven’t given us an official end date for Season 1, but we can use the game’s Battle Pass to determine when it will come to a close.

According to the Battle Pass, Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 will end on Saturday, March 19, 2022. While this has changed in the past, Epic didn’t release a new patch for the game on March 15, which they could have used to delay the finale if required.

It’s also unlikely that Fortnite Season 1 will have an event to bring things to an end, as leakers were unable to find any files linked to a showstopping finale in any of the previous updates.

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 start date & time

With the Season 1 end date in mind, Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 is set to begin on Sunday, March 20, 2022.

    AEDT 8:00 PM, March 20, 2022

Of course, it’s possible that Epic Games could delay it by a couple of days, as most Fortnite updates release on a Tuesday. This means we expect it to start no later than Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 leaks

Even though Season 2 is just days away, very little is actually known about the upcoming patch. Thankfully, there are some leaks and theories that should help give us an idea of what to expect.

On March 5, renowned leaker HYPEX dropped a list of content that Epic are believed to be working on ahead of Season 2. Included in this were tanks, Tactical Sprint, a new Clamber mechanic, and Vehicle Mods that could add armor and turrets.

We’re also in the dark about what the theme for Season 2 could be. While some believe it could be based around a war between the IO and The Seven, others believe Star Wars will take center stage. This would make sense, as lightsaber animations were re-added in a previous patch.

There’s always a chance that Epic could spring a surprise on us though, which is what makes new Fortnite seasons so exciting. Teasers haven’t started dropping yet, but hopefully, they will give us a better idea of what’s to come.

According to some new Fortnite leaks, the Marvel character Doctor Strange could be arriving in the battle royale soon.

Some new leaks have emerged, suggesting that Epic Games are planning to introduce the character Doctor Strange in a new Fortnite and Marvel collaboration.

Fortnite has brought a plethora of fun crossover content for players to enjoy over the seasons, with characters like Uncharted’s Nathan Drake as well as real-life celebrities like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson joining the game.

Now, it seems that Epic Games may be setting their sights on another major crossover, as some new Fortnite leaks are hinting at the arrival of the popular Marvel character, Doctor Strange.

When does Fortnite Season 2 start? Here's everything we know

What can we expect from Fortnite Season 2 of Chapter 3?

What can we expect from Fortnite Season 2 of Chapter 3 when it officially comes out?

When does Fortnite Season 2 start is the question on everyone's lips as the end of the current season in progress looms large ahead, as well as wondering what the overall theme for the Season 2 Battle Pass will be when it goes live. It's unlikely we'll see such a big change as the one when the whole Fortnite island got turned upside down to usher in Chapter 3, but you can be sure that Epic have some surprises up their sleeves to keep things fresh in the battle royale. Now is the time to get your progress for Season 1 wrapped up, especially if you have any Fortnite Level Up Tokens outstanding for collection as you don't want to miss any boosts from that. If you're getting ready and want to find out more about what's next for Fortnite Season 2 in Chapter 3, then here's everything we know about it so far.

When does Fortnite Season 2 start in Chapter 3?

The Fortnite Season 2 release date hasn't been officially confirmed, but according to the Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass, as seen on the Epic Games website and the in-game message on the Battle Pass screen, we can determine the Season 1 Battle Pass will end on March 19, 2022. This means that the Fortnite Season 2 start date will most likely be around Sunday March 20, 2022, but there may be some downtime for the transition, and we should receive official confirmation on this soon.

What will be the biggest changes made for Fortnite Season 2?

After such a big shift to Chapter 3, it's unlikely that anywhere near as much will be altered for the next switchover, thought at this point it's still too early to say what changes will be made for Fortnite Season 2. We were promised weather effects in the current season, which have now arrived in the form of the Fortnite Tornadoes and Lightning sweeping across the island, and we could potentially see these features extended further. We've also discovered a number of Fortnite Mole Team Drill Sites around the map, along with the substantial base hidden inside the mountain at Covert Cavern, so expect a bigger presence from the Imagined Order as we move forward.

How much will the Fortnite Season 2 Battle Pass cost?

Fortnite is free to play, but buying the Battle Pass will get you loads of additional rewards. The Fortnite Season 2 Battle Pass will likely be available for the usual 950 V-Bucks, which means it will be enough to purchase the smallest V-Bucks bundle in the Fortnite store, priced at $7.99 / £6.49 to get you 1,000 V-Bucks.

It's possible to get a head start by buying the Battle Bundle upgrade. This will get you to Tier 25 on the Battle Pass instantly. Doing so will cost you 2,800 V-Bucks, which you can get for $19.99 / £15.99 (2,500 V-Bucks, plus 300 for free).

If you don't want to spend any money, you can always try to get free Fortnite V-Bucks for the Fortnite Season 2 Battle Pass, but don't fall for online scams! If you choose to save up some V-Bucks, remember that you only need to collect 950 of them to unlock the next Fortnite Battle Pass starting in March 2022.

And that's all we know about Fortnite Season 2 in Chapter 3 for now, but keep checking back and we'll have all the details as soon as they're revealed!
