There are four fundamental forces, or interactions, in physics, the strong and weak nuclear forces, the electromagnetic force, and gravity.

The strong and weak nuclear forces only exist inside atoms, while the forces of electromagnetism and gravity have much longer ranges.

While gravity is the weakest of the four forces it is also the one felt at the longest range, as the larger a mass the greater the gravitational attraction it creates.
