2. Disable Hardware Acceleration: Fix Black Screen Issue to Stream Netflix on Discord

Streaming a Chrome tab with Netflix - Black screen issue

Look, I know this is Netflix making sure we don't pirate or abuse a streaming service by streaming a streaming service, but I'd really love to watch movies with friends via Discord.

Situation is as follows: I stream Chrome, turn on a movie, and although the audio plays, the viewers can't see the screen. It's just black.

I don't know if there's a fix but I seriously want this to work out. Please send help or suggestions!

Hellooo I normally don't comment on reddit or to be honest use reddit but I just came to this solution today myself to fix the discord black screen!

now any number of these will solve the issues so tinker around with settings and see if it helps.

go to the voice and video tab in your settings then go to video codec and disable OpenH264 Video Codec, disable both of those options of you want.

if you go farther down the voice and video tab you'll also find a setting for "Use our latest technology to capture your screen." this has worked for some people.

But if it continues to be an issue where you only hear audio there is one last method that did the trick for me was actually going on chrome and going to settings. Scroll all the way to the bottom until you land on advanced drop down menu. Look for the setting that says "Use Hardware Acceleration when available" and disable that feature.
