As they delve ever deeper into the world of Horizon Forbidden West, players will eventually find themselves at the Restless Weald Relic Ruins. Much like the last Relic Ruins that they stumbled upon, players will need to have crafted the Igniter in order to fully explore them, meaning that those who've been neglecting the main story may need to come back a little later on.

For Horizon Forbidden West players who have already completed the Death's Door main story mission though, the Relic Ruins at the Restless Weald will likely prove to be fairly simple when compared to some of the others. Finding the key is particularly easy, though players will need to do a little bit of detective work in order to figure out the passcode for the door.

How to Get the Depot Office Key

Before investigating the ruin itself, players should look for an old railcar and move it along the tracks until they've passed the switcher. After doing so, they'll need to use the switcher to change to the straight tracks and then push the cart back along them to the side of the station. This will allow Aloy to climb onto a yellow beam and across a rope that leads to the Depot Office key.

    How to Get the Passcode

With the key now in hand, players should drop down and look for the nearby ladder, which will need to be shot down with an arrow before they can climb it. There are Datapoints both at the top of the ladder and in the structure behind it which players should scan. One reveals that the passcode for the door is the same as the year in which the station was built and the other that this year can be found somewhere on the exterior of the station.

By heading around to the northwest side of the structure, players will find what at first appears to be the number 1623 on the wall. A more thorough inspection will reveal that the 6 is a little bit lower than the other three digits and is actually a 9 that has fallen down at some point over the past thousand years or so. Now knowing the year in which the station was built, players can use the passcode 1923 to open up the locked door.

    How to Get the Ornament

Unlike other Relic Ruins, which typically grant access to their ornaments almost as soon as the locked door is opened, there's still a bit of work to be done here. First, players should slide along the rope to gain access to a new area where they'll find a patch of Firegleam crystals on one of the walls. Using the Igniter will open up a path back outside, which just so happens to be connected to the train tracks from earlier on.

This means that players will once again have to push or pull the railcar back along the tracks to a point behind the switcher and then change back to the curved tracks. Doing so will enable them to push the railcar into the newly accessible structure and climb on top of it to gain access to the platform with the ornament. From here it's a simple case of picking up the ancient trinket in order to complete the Restless Weald Relic Ruins.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now on PS4 and PS5.

Restless Weald Relic Ruin: Door Code Puzzle | Horizon Forbidden West

Post published: February 18, 2022 Post category:

    Horizon Forbidden West

This guide shows how to complete the “Restless Weald” Relic Ruin in Horizon Forbidden West. You will be able to complete this ruin only after you have completed story quest 5, Death’s Door.

    Restless Weald Relic Ruin Location

The location of the ruin is marked in the picture below.

    Restless Weald Door Code Puzzle

Go to the southeast side of the ruin as marked in the picture below.

Here you will see the number 1923 (9 is upside down and looks like 6) written on the wall as shown in the picture below.

Enter the ruin through this wall and immediately turn left. Then jump over the wooden barrels as shown in the picture below.

Behind the barrels, you will find a Datapoint. The Datapoint says that the entry code is the year the station was built. So, the number 1923 that you saw on the ruin wall before is the door code.

    Restless Weald Relic Ruin Walkthrough

Go to the northeast portion of the ruins. Here you will see a railcar. Pull the railcar to the starting point of the tracks. Then use the switch to change to the straight tracks. Now push the railcar forward until you reach a ledge.

Stop the railcar below the ledge as shown below. Then jump on the railcar and climb up the ledge. After that walk on the rope to reach the key module on the other side. Pick up the key module.

Then jump down and shoot the red lock to release the ladder as shown in the picture below. Jump on the ledges as shown below to reach the ladder. Then climb up the ladder to reach the locked door.

Insert the key module on the console next to the locked door. Then enter the door code (1923) to unlock the door.

Once the door is open, use the zipline to go through the hole on the wall on the opposite side as shown in the picture below.

Here you will find a firegleam as shown below. Ignite the firegleam to blow up the wall. You will be able to do this only after you have completed story quest 5, Death’s Door.

Now go back to the railcar and pull it back to the starting point of the tracks. Then use the switch to change to the curved track. Push the railcar and take it inside the ruins through the hole on the wall that you created by igniting the firegleam before.

Stop the railcar below the ledges as shown in the pictures below. Then jump on the ledges to reach the ornament. Pick up the ornament to complete the “Restless Weald” Relic Ruin.

Finding the Restless Weald code in Horizon Forbidden West requires some extra work, here's how to find the code to snag the relic!

Horizon Forbidden West Restless Weald Code | How to Open Door

    February 22, 2022

When exploring the world of Horizon Forbidden West, some places net Aloy a lot of XP and Skill points. They’re out of the way and aren’t required for completing the game. However, if you’re the adventurous sort or a completionist, you’ll come across some of these ruins in the game. Inside the ruins, there are plenty of things to do. These ruins, however, are filled to the brim with puzzles and codes, and one of these ruins is Restless Weald. This puzzle challenge requires Aloy to open a door, but that door requires a code. Here’s how to complete the puzzles and find the Restless Weald code for the door.

What Is the Restless Weald Code in Horizon Forbidden West

The Restless Weald code is 1923. But first things first, you’ll need to make it to the Restless Weald Ruins before you can enter it. It’s located on the east side of the map, just a little north and to the west of Plainsong.

Aloy won’t be able to complete the puzzle without the Igniter tool. So, if you don’t have it, get it, and then come back. Once you’re there, it’s now time to complete the puzzle, and get the Restless Weald Code.

Once you make it to the ruins, you’ll have to scan a datapad, which will give you a clue, stating that the code is “the year the facility was built” however, the only other datapad says the same information, so you’ll have to do some looking around to complete this quest. To get to the answer, you’ll need the depot key. Push the train car, which will stand out from the other when scanned. Push it as far away from the ruins as possible. You’re going to be switching tracks.

Before you do that and push the car back, climb up and make your way across the tight rope to make it to the office depot key. Now you can switch the tracks, moving the car to the other side of the depot. After that, with everything placed and ready to go, looking around the ruins, you should find four numbers on a wall

Now, the wall says 1623, but the actual Restless Weald code is 1923.

Go back to where you found the data scans, and you should be able to climb up to the door above you and enter the Restless Weald code, in which you’ll take a zipline down to the depot, where the relic is. You can then use the card to leave.
