If you’re interested in furthering your career, apply to one of our apprenticeship programs:
Applications will be accepted starting on January 5, 2022 on the First and Third Wednesday, from 8-11 am and 1-3 pm of each month with the exception of July and December, in which the applications will be closed. Please be sure to have all required documents before you apply. Walk-ins are welcome. The office is closed on weekends and holidays.
The OCETT believes that everyone should have access to high quality education and training.

How to Apply
Explore Requirements
Applicants must:
Demonstrate fluency in the English language
Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application. (reliable documentation is required)
Bring the following required documentation with you to the above address when applying.
Valid Driver’s License
Social Security Card
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED or H.S.P.E.)
Official Sealed High School Transcripts
Your official sealed transcripts must show successful completion of (2 semesters) of High School Algebra 1 with a passing grade of “C” or better in each semester, or one post-high school Algebra course (e.g. Adult Education, Continuing Education, Community College, etc.) with a passing grade of “C” or better or provide evidence of having successfully completed the NJATC Tech Math Course.

Is There a Set Schedule for Testing and Interviewing?
Qualified applicants will be notified by email of the date, time and place to report to for an aptitude examination. The test battery covers reading comprehension and math. The aptitude test is a pass/fail test proctored at the training facility.
If a qualified applicant passes the aptitude test, they will be notified (by email) and scheduled for the upcoming interviews.

I do not have the Algebra 1 requirements, what can I do?
You can take an Algebra course at an Adult Education, Continuing Education, Community College, etc. with a passing grade of “C” or better or provide evidence of having successfully completed the NJATC Tech Math Course.

I have an Electrical Trainee (ET) Card from the State of California, do I still need to go through the Application Process?
Yes, in order to become a Union Electrician you must apply to the apprenticeship program.

Yes, you must show proof of a valid Driver’s License.

No, all applications must be completed at the training center.
