Whatever the math term is, 150 is the common multiple of 30 and 75.
You can then solve this several ways:
Each 150th customer got both, so 3000 ÷ 150 = 20. Very direct, but minor difficulty to do it in your head.
The fifth of those receiving popcorn got both. 3000 ÷ 30 is 1%. Decimal percentages are easy to calculate. 100 people got popcorn. A fifth of the 100 got both, a fifth of 100 is an easy fraction: 20.
½ of those recieving sodapop got both. ½ is another easy fraction to work with. 300 is an easy 10% of 3000. 75 is ¼ of 300. 10 x 4 = 40, forty people got sodapop. ½ of the 40 = 20.
#2 and #3 look very convoluted to anyone who learned long division as the only way to do math. Breaking the large numbers down into easier to “comprehend” is totally valid.

Do movie theater staff members get free popcorn?
It’s been years since I worked concession at a local theater but the answer is YES, you are allowed free popcorn.
The places I worked didn’t mind us snacking on the popcorn if there were no customers around… there’s a ton of it popped and a most of that is discarded every day. Theaters make more money on the smell of “fresh” popcorn than serving the stale stuff so we were encouraged to pop new batches at every showing.
The problem is after a day or two working around the heat and commotion - no one wants to eat it. The smell/oil permeates your clothes, clings to your nostrils and dries to your s

Jack and Jason went to the movies with friends. Ben purchased 3 popcorn and 2 boxes of candy for $41. Carson purchased 1 popcorn and 2 boxes of candy for $29. How much did the popcorn cost?
X = cost of one popcorn, Y = cost of one box of candy
3X + 2Y = 41 1X + 2Y = 29
2x = 12 or x = 6 Each popcorn costs $6
6 + 2Y = 29 or 2Y = 23 so each candy cost $11.50

How do you get free popcorn at the movie theater?
I really don’t think there’s a way to get free popcorn unless you have a way to attract the person behind the counter.

But they knew how to handle them. They got a lot of attention wherever they went; stares, unwanted advances, notes left on their cars and school lockers. My siste...
